Clodsire Crochet Pattern - Important Notes
To make the switching between colours easier, I tend to hold whichever colour I’m not currently using behind my work and stitch over it, carrying it along with me as I crochet. I’d advise doing this for less hassle!
Remember when you do your colour changes to bring in the new colour on the last yarn over of the stitch BEFORE.
Example for rnd 2: starting in 2nd ch from hook, inc 2, sc 4 and turn to continue working down the opposite side of the ch, inc 2. change colour to light grey in your 2nd st, then back to dark grey in your 6th st (12 sts). For this round you’ll be looping in the new colour on the last yarn over of your 1st and 5th stitch.
To make sure the your colour changes reflect the pattern as closely as possible, I’d advise using the yarn under technique and invisible decreases. The invisible decreases are especially important as using normal decreases may cause your colour changes to become out of place when getting to the tail.

Clodsire Crochet Pattern Assembly and Needle Felting
Sew the four legs to the body. Your front legs should be positioned around rnds 7-9 and the back legs should be between rnds 13-14. Make sure to pin them down before attaching so that you can test out how well he’ll sit when he’s done!
Sew the fin in the middle of Clodsire’s back, between rnds 9-19. It’s also helpful to pin this down before sewing to make sure it’s central.
Sew the six white spots onto his back, three each on either side of the fins. They should be positioned between rnds 6-9, 10-12, and 13-15.
To embroider the face, you’ll want to start by taking your sewing needle out through either side of the face, between rnds 3-4. Then you need to insert the needle back into that same hole and then take the needle back out between rnds 4-5, looping your thread around and over to secure a loop to the face. Repeat this two times in total to complete one eye, then move over to the other side and repeat the same to finish the second eye. To make the mouth, take the needle out through the face, in the middle of rnds 2-3. Then insert the needle back into the face between rnds 5-6, and bring it back out between rnds 3-4 to make a loop over the top of your existing thread to secure it down and give a nice curve to the smile. Then repeat this process for the other side of the mouth.

I am terrible at following patterns but I just love this friend shaped guy so much!
Your pattern looks so cute! I just have a hard time visualising what it should look like in stages!
I video would be good. I find this pattern confusing trying to figure out Ron’s and stitches, I am use to crocheting with hoe many stitches not like this. But its so cute.
I’d love to make this little dude, but I’m having trouble following the pattern atleast in the beginning. Would you consider making a video?
