Pawmi Crochet Pattern - Pokemon
As we all know, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet came out this month! I actually made this Pawmi crochet pattern before release, back when the Pokemon was first announced. However, with the release of the game I thought it was time to share it with you all so you can have your own crochet Pawmi keeping you company on your Pokemon adventures! If you enjoy this pattern, consider following my Twitter and Instagram where I’m always making lots of new crochet friends!

Abbreviations:

You might notice that the progress pictures I’ve taken for making this little guy are in pink instead of orange: that’s because after finding out his shiny is pink I just had to make one! And I thought I’d use that opportunity to show you all my Pawmi crochet pattern while I was motivated to make another. Not to worry though, all instructions are the same in pink as they are in orange, so you shouldn’t have any trouble still following along! If you’d like to make your own shiny version, just replace the Patons Fab DK ‘Canary’ with Hayfield Bonus DK ‘Pink’!

Pawmi Crochet Pattern Assembly and Needle Felting
Firstly, I like to pin everything together to make sure the placement is exactly how I want it! It should look something like this:
I usually start at the top and work my way down, so let’s start with the ears. Sew them onto the top of the head around rounds 3-5. Leave the front ear parts to the side for now, as we’ll attach them later. Then sew the hair fluff in between the ears.
Next, attach the bottom of the arms to the body. Then, for extra security, you can move halfway up the arms and put in a stitch there so that they’re more fixed in place. Now you can sew on the feet – I like to sit Pawmi down every so often as I do this just to double check that I’m not throwing his balance off from the feet placement.
Next, take your bottom tail piece and use your finishing end to attach the bottom to the back of Pawmi. Now take the top tail piece and place the bottom of it side-by-side to the top of the other piece. In case that sounds a little confusing, there’s pictures below to help illustrate what I mean! After doing that I also like to add another stitch halfway up the tail like with the arms, to secure it to the body.
Now you need to needle felt the green insides of the ears using your green wool roving. Once you’ve done this, you can sew on the front ear pieces as shown below!
Now all that’s left is to needle felt the face and paws. Start with the white muzzle to help make sure everything will be centered. All you need to do here is create a horizontal oval shape in between the paws and on the bottom of the face.
After the muzzle, add in the black base for the eyes on either side. You can then add in the eye highlights on top of the black. For shiny Pawmi I’ve used pink instead of brown for the bottom highlights, both versions are shown below!
Next, add in the nose and mouth to the centre of the muzzle in black. You can then use your yellow wool roving to create the cheeks on either side of the face.
Now the face is finished, we have just one little touch left to add! Pawmi’s little claws. For each claw you need to take three small balls of aran and felt them to the top of the paws as you can see in the pictures below. This should create three bumps for his hands. You may need to use more wool roving than you have in previous steps since you’re trying to make a more 3D shape this time!
