Sprigatito Crochet Pattern Assembly

Assembly:

Curl the ears around and sew them onto the top of the head. Then sew the fur pieces on just below the ears, using two big fur pieces with one small fur piece in the middle on each side. You can gently bend the big fur pieces outwards to give them their little curl.

Sew the body to the head. Attach the two front legs to the front of the body. Then, sew the bottom piece of body fur onto the top of the body, covering most of the legs, and sew the smaller piece on top of this.

Finally, attach the back legs to the sides of the body. I find it helps to stand the plush up every so often as I am doing this, to make sure he isn’t too wobbly when sat upright. Sew the tail onto the back. Gently bend the tip of the tail to give it a small curl.

Needle Felting:

If you’re unfamiliar with needle felting, you can always make the face details by cutting out pieces of felt and sewing or gluing them on instead! I’ll try my best to walk you through the steps I usually take below.

First of all, use your light green wool roving to fill in the ears.

To make the facial features, start with the leaf pattern on the head using your dark green wool roving. I usually start on the left side and work my way around, but if you’re right handed it may be more natural for you to start on the right. Experiment with methods and find what works for you!. Make sure to egularly refer back to pictures of Sprigatito to make sure your shapes are correct.

Next, felt the nose onto the face. This will help you to judge where the centre of the face is when it comes to adding the eyes.

To felt the closed eyes, take your black wool roving and shape it into a small, long strip before felting this to the face. Use the picture below as reference if you are unsure! Add the pink cheeks below, continually checking that everything is centered.

If you’d like to felt Sprigatito’s open eyes, start by attaching two white ovals on either side of the face. Then, add the pink as smaller ovals, followed by the black pupils, and then the white reflection in the eye as the final touch.

Finally, you can add a little smile by needle felting with a small amount of black wool roving along the bottom edge of your leaf shape.
