Did anyone else watch the 2023 Pokemon Worlds livestream? I did and had a blast! I loved the plush designs they came up with for the event, and was inspired to make my own crochet version of the hanami dango Sprigatito that was released during the event. Now you can have your very own version without going all the way to Japan to get the official plush! 😉 If you enjoy this pattern, consider following my Twitter and Instagram where I’m always making lots of new crochet friends!

Pokemon Sprigatito Crochet Pattern Assembly

Fold the ears slightly and sew to the top of the head, between rnds 3-6. Then sew the face fur about 1 st beneath each ear on either side of the head. If you haven’t yet already, attach the face leaf to the front of the head, between rnds 4-9. To help with the placement, try and line up the centre of the leaf with the sc 3 you did on rnd 8 of the head.

Sew the body to the side of the head, between rnds 12-14, and the arms on either side of the body. You should be able to count about 6 sts along the top of the body between each arm. Now sew the fluff for underneath the neck between the two arms. This piece is optional as it becomes quite hidden by the dango on the finished Sprigatito, so isn’t essential if you’d like to save time!

Next I find it helpful to sew the hanami dango together in order to judge how your final plushie will sit – sew in the order of pink, white and green from top to bottom. Then sew the stick to the bottom of the green dumpling. You can now pin the dango to Sprigatito, along with the legs and tail, to get a better vision on the best placement for the rest of the limbs! Once you are happy, sew on the legs around rnds 3-6 on the body, about 8 sts apart across the top. Then attach the tail and the fluff for the back of the neck. Sew the arms and legs to the hanami dango.

Now you can work on finishing touches! Depending on whatever method you prefer, you can embroider or use felt for the face on your Sprigatito – here’s the two options I made below for reference! Next, you can either use needle felting or cut triangles of light green felt to put inside the ears, then attach the cherry blossom flower to the bottom of the right ear.
