Lotad Pokemon Crochet Pattern Materials

Materials:

Hayfield Bonus DK ‘Cornflower’

Hayfield Bonus DK ‘Zest’

Hayfield Bonus DK ‘Bright Lemon’

Black wool roving OR safety eyes OR embroidery thread – for face and details

2.5mm crochet hook

Sewing needle

Felting needle

Stuffing

 

Abbreviations:

bbl – bobble stitch (4 double crochets)

sc – single crochet

inc – increase

dec – decrease

sts – stitches

rep – repeat

rnd – rounds

blo – back loops only

 

 

This pattern uses US terminology and is worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated

Lotad Pokemon Crochet Pattern Directions

Head/Body (make one):

Using Hayfield Bonus DK ‘Cornflower’

 

rnd 1: sc 6 in magic ring (6 sts)

 

rnd 2: inc in each st around (12 sts)

 

rnd 3: *sc 1, inc in next st* rep * 6 times (18 sts)

 

rnd 4: sc 5, bbl 1, sc 6, bbl 1, sc 5 (18 sts)

 

rnd 5: sc in each st around (18 sts)

 

rnd 6: sc 5, bbl 1, sc 6, bbl 1, sc 5 (18 sts)

 

rnd 7: sc in each st around (18 sts)

 

rnd 8: sc 6, bbl 1, sc 5, bbl 1, sc 5 (18 sts)

 

Start stuffing and attach safety eyes if using here, between rnds 2-3

 

rnd 9: *sc 1, dec in next st* (12 sts)

 

Finish stuffing

 

rnd 10: dec in each st around (6 sts)

 

Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing. Use your loose end to close up the 6 st hole on the body, then weave it in

 
Lilypad (make one):

Using Hayfield Bonus DK ‘Zest’. This piece is made in rows, so make sure to ch 1 and turn at the end of each row.

 

row 1: sc 6 in magic ring (6 sts)

 

row 2: inc in each st around (12 sts)

 

row 3: *sc 1, inc in next st* rep * 6 times (18 sts)

 

row 4: *sc 2, inc in next st* rep * 6 times (24 sts)

 

row 5: in blo, sc 24 (24 sts)

 

Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing.

Lotad Crochet Pattern Assembly

Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing. Sew the lily pad to the top of the body, on rnds 3-9.

Then embroider the beak using yellow yarn just beneath the hole made from your magic ring on the body – you should be inserting your needle right between rnds 1 and 2 and making two horizontal lines! You can embroider or needle felt eyes either side of the beak, between rnds 2-3.
